Construction
Conceptual Design
The initial design concepts will start at our first meeting you. We will discuss what items you would like to include in the design and go back and forth with ideas that might work well for your particular project. Every project is different, so every design is unique to your particular home. From there, we will put together a 2-D design set and a 3-D design set for your review. Along with the design set, we will provide you with a proposal/contract for the work.
Layout
Once the pool has been permitted with the correct city/municipality we can begin to layout the project. This is done by painting the outline of the pool and other structures out on the ground.
Excavation
After the layout has been approved, excavation will begin. Excavation typically lasts 3-5 days; this is where we actually dig the hole where your pool will be located. Once digging is completed, the outside form boards of your pool will be installed.
Steel
The steel work will begin once the form boards are installed. Steelwork consists of steel rebar being installed in a grid-like pattern and is the steel reinforcement for the gunite that will be installed later.
Plumbing
After Steelwork is completed, schedule 40 PVC plumbing pipes will be installed. All piping is connected and pressure tested and will stay under pressure to ensure that there are not any plumbing issues throughout the course of the project.
Gunite
Once plumbing is completed, the pool is ready for gunite. Gunnite is a mixture of sand, rock, and cement and it will be sprayed onto the steel grid that was previously installed. This phase will typically be completed in one day and will be the last really noisy day of construction for your pool.
Covered Patios/Hardscapes
Once the gunite shell has been installed, this is the point that all other hardscape structures (covered patios, outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, etc) will start to take shape and begin being constructed.
Tile & Coping
The next phase is the installation of the waterline tile and coping which you have selected. This process usually takes 3-5 days to complete. If there is additional stonework, raised features, boulder waterfalls, etc, these will also be completed in this phase as well.
Decking/Patio
There are many different options for the pool patio; concrete, travertine, pavers, etc. Once the Coping on the pool has been installed the patio will start to be installed.
Electrical
Prior to the pool is ready for plaster, the pool equipment must be installed. A licensed electrician will install the lights, pumps, filter, cleaners, and all other pool equipment associated with your specific pool.
Completion of all other Hardscape Features
Prior to landscape and plaster, all of the hardscape structures (covered patios, outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, etc) will need to be completed. This stage will vary in time depending on the size and scope of each individual project.
Plaster
Pool plaster is the last thing to be completed before the pool can be filled with water. This process is typically 1 to 2 days depending on the type of plaster that has been selected. After the pool has been filled, it will require brushing twice a day for two weeks.
Pool Startup
After the pool is filled with water we will walk you thru how to properly operate and control your pool system so you can enjoy it for many years to come!
